Part- Time Bus Driver/ Maintenance

Bus/ Van Driver:

General Summary:

The primary purpose of this position is to assist the residents to and from any necessary outside events. Such duties must be in accordance with federal, state and local standards, and policies and procedures that govern Bethany Lutheran Home.

Qualifications:

  • Good driving record.
  • No record of abuse.
  • A valid drivers’ license with CDL

  • One to three years bus driving experience.

  • Must be 25 years of age or older.

Essential Job Functions:

  • To cooperate with activity directors about outings with residents.
  • To report issues to appropriate supervisors, ie. resident/family issues to charge nurse, vehicle problems to maintenance director
  • To be available for errands as required.
  • To keep a log of miles driven and maintenance service for vehicles.
  • To keep vehicle, clean inside and out.
  • To understand vehicle operation.
  • Abide by all local and state laws regarding vehicle operation.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Maintenance:

General Summary:

To maintain the grounds, facility, and equipment in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with federal, state and local standards, guidelines, regulations that govern Bethany Lutheran Home by the Director of Environmental Services to ensure that the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times.

Qualifications:

· Must have no record of abuse.

· Must be able to communicate efficiently.

· Must be able to adhere to responsibilities.

· Must be able to use and operate standard maintenance equipment.

· Must know how to operate floor buffer.

· Must be able to read and speak the English language in an understandable manner.

· Must be at least 18 years old.

· One year of experience operating maintenance equipment (including floor buffing)

Essential Job Functions:

· Assist others in lifting heavy equipment, supplies, etc. as directed or requested.

· Sweep and mop floors; remove cleaning products and place tools to appropriate storage.

· Operate floor buffer.

· Set up chairs and tables for facility, or activities, sponsored events and meetings and remove to appropriate storage when meeting is complete.

· Follow all infection control policies and procedures.

· Use all products appropriately and safely.

· Attend all mandatory staff meetings as required.

· To ensure grounds are kept in neat and presentable manner, this includes mowing, shoveling, weeding, trimming and use of any equipment to ensure safety of residents, staff, and visitors.

· Perform routine maintenance and repair on the facility and equipment to include plumbing, plastering, electrical, carpentry, mechanical, etc., as directed in accordance with established procedures.

· Ensure proper lighting, temperature, etc. throughout facility.

· Coordinate all maintenance services with other departments to ensure timeliness.

· Ensure maintenance supplies have been replenished in work areas, inform manager needs.

· Ensure proper maintenance of all equipment and machinery.

· Other duties as assigned or requested.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to move intermittently throughout the day.
  • Must be able to push, pull, move and/or lift a minimum of 50 lbs. to a minimum of 3ft.
  • Must be able to assist in the evacuation of residents in an emergency.
  • Must be able to kneel, stoop or bend to assist residents.
